I am a lifelong Alaskan, born and raised right here in the Golden Heart Community. I grew up in North Pole, where I also attended school, and am incredibly grateful to have the privilege of continuing to serve a community that helped shape me. I come from a family of educators, which instilled a deep love for education and working with children from a young age.
I have spent the past 10 years working within the Fairbanks North Star Borough School District, primarily as a third grade teacher. During that time, I also had the opportunity to mentor fellow educators new to the district, helping to support their growth in the classroom. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education, a Minor in Music, and a Master’s in Curriculum and Instruction.
My passion for education is centered around hands-on learning and building meaningful connections with children. I truly believe that kids learn best when they feel seen, supported, and engaged in experiences that spark curiosity and joy.
I am incredibly excited to take on this new journey, one that allows me to continue doing what I love, while also embracing this season of life with my own young children. As a mom to three wonderful kids, this opportunity is especially meaningful to me both personally and professionally - a true dream job!
I am honored to step into the BIG shoes of founder Susan Grant, who originally started AEP and built such a special foundation. We first found AEP in fall of 2022 when my then 2.5 year old would barely talk to anyone. We registered her for Tot School and she continued to blossom as the year went on. As many have experienced the wonders of Ms. Susan, we fell in love with AEP and everything it represents. As a teacher, a mom, and a current AEP parent, I pinch myself that I am getting the opportunity to continue her dream - and now, also mine. I will do my absolute best to carry forward the heart, vision, and care that make AEP so meaningful to so many families.
I look forward to meeting you and your families for the 2026 - 2027 school year.
